And if you’re curious to learn how we give life to our creations, how we chooses the fabrics that will caresse your skin, and why we chose to only have Italian suppliers, you are welcome.

Why Kinda?

'Cause definitions are limits.

Kinda is the American slang for kind of, because we are talking about exclusive swimwear, not exclusively about swimwear. You can wear our pieces from day to night (and viceversa).
As simple as that!

Kinda 3D Swimwear was born in 2018 by the shore of Bracciano Lake (near Rome) from the pencil of Alessandra Durastanti, which today owns her business together with her family in Italy.

From design to packaging, everything at Kinda is made in Italy, with the best fabrics and all our tailors’ experience.

We are proud to collaborate with local artisans and to preserve the Italian manufacturing traditions by promoting the local economy.

This combination of high-quality Italian design and sustainability makes each Kinda 3D Swimwear garment a statement of style and responsibility.

Why 3D?

That's our signature

What distinguishes us is the creation of garments through the three-dimensional handsewing technique «Fabric Manipulation», a tailoring art that focuses on the creation of 3D and textured effects on fabrics.

This technique involves folding, ruffling, gathering, cutting and other manipulations of fabrics to create effects of volume and structure.

Our tailors use hand or machine embroidery, quilting, irregular folds and draping to transform a flat fabric into a unique and dynamic piece. The result is three-dimensional details that add depth and visual interest to garments.

Nature and respect: for ourselves, for others, for our planet

We founded our company with the aim of combining typically Italian elegance and style with a strong commitment to ethical production and respect for the environment.

Each piece in the collection is made with locally sourced eco-friendly materials and production processes that minimize environmental impact.

We have a deep connection with nature, that’s why we chose to use only ECONYL® regenerated nylon, recycled starting from nylon waste like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic from all over the world, to create new beauty without exploiting new resources.

When we design, choose a fabric and bring a collections to life, there is always music in our office.

Behind the brand

Alessandra Durastanti: mind, pencil and soul

Kinda 3D Swimwear was born from my natural instinct to seek beauty and challenge myself and the world around me with creativity.

I’ve taken my 7-years of experience as a Brand Manager for – among others – Gucci, Hugo Boss and Alexander McQueen fragrances and cosmetics and put it into my brand.

I am now the Chief Marketing Manager of Kinda 3D Swimwear and I also work as a freelance Marketing Consultant helping young entrepreneurs giving life to their beautiful projects.

Together with me works a team of wonderful people.
